Dr. Irawan is the general chairman of Persmapi (Indonesian Islamic Education Management Bachelor Association) since 2014. Dr. Badrudin Chairman of Permapendis (Association of Islamic Education Managers) Indonesia.
The series of comparative study activities was filled with the MPI’s seminar. The seminar featured resource persons Drs. H. Yaya Suryana, M.Ag. (senior lecturer at MPI UIN SGD Bandung). In his presentation, he said that the scientific development of Islamic Education Management and the professionalism of administrative staff or Islamic education staff had not synergized well. MPI graduates do not seem to have been projected to fill jobs as educational staff (Administration) in Islamic Educational Institutions (Madrasah, Pesantren and Islamic Higher Education). Therefore, the curriculum of the MPI Department needs to be rearranged so that it connects with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed by prospective employees or employees in Islamic educational institutions.
Finally, the MPI Department of UIN SGD Bandung received a visit from the MPI Al Maarif Kalirejo Lampung Study Program (28-01-2020). The group led by Drs. Ahmad Rifai, MPd. received directly by the Dean of the Tarbiyah Faculty of UIN SGD Bandung (Prof. Dr. Hj. Aan Hasanah, M.Ed.).
Irawan, as the Head of the MPI Department at UIN Bandung, responded positively to his dean’s call to change the pattern of lectures at MPI. The curriculum revision that is being worked on by the department has taken into account adding a new course, namely digital literacy. In addition, the Department’s laboratory is developing MPI soft skills whose sources come from Islamic teachings such as being patient, istiqamah, hard work, capable of making decisions and several other religious attitudes (ir/persmapi).
